The Responsibility

Jun 28, 2026    Pastor Shawn Harrison

Sound doctrine rests upon the foundations of the Christian faith, and from this foundation comes a church's distinction and a Christian's personal convictions. These are good for churches and people to have, as long as they remain tethered to sound doctrine. When teachings, beliefs, and practices pull away from sound doctrine, and begin to contradict and change sound doctrine, this is called heresy and false teaching. All pastors and elders are to strictly guard against such things as they build up their church with sound teaching that produces sound faith.
