Our Example
The New Testament discusses two ages – the present age and the age to come. Because of our union with Christ, we belong to the age to come. Yet, we still live in the present age. This is why we experience a tension within us and all around us; we live in a world that we no longer belong to. Because of this, we're to reflect the Kingdom we have received and no longer reflect the world we’ve been redeemed from. The Kingdom we now belong to looks very different than any other kingdom that this world holds up as an alternative.
Because of this, our faith and hope must be firmly rooted in the very One we're united to. Further, we must live by a higher standard than what the world offers up as acceptable. As people of God's Kingdom our call to action runs through the entirety of the New Testament - to boldly live a life that's being transformed by the Holy Spirit and the gospel day by day. It's this type of lifestyle and standard that the world desperately needs to see and hear, because through this witness the message of Jesus Christ and Him crucified is undeniable.
